Personal Finance OS — Privacy

Personal Finance OS is a private application for its owner's personal budgeting and cash-flow planning. It is not offered as a public account-aggregation service. Contact: info@godev.space.

Information used and its purpose

The application uses account details and identifiers, balances, transaction records and descriptions, dates, and the owner's financial planning inputs to explain spending, check records and calculate conditional forecasts. It retains source observations and review decisions so results can be traced to their evidence.

Bank connection

The owner authorizes account-information access through Enable Banking and the bank. Enable Banking processes the authorized bank information as the connection provider. The owner reviews the accounts and access duration in the authorization flow. Local account selection controls which granted accounts the application subsequently fetches; it does not reduce an existing consent at the provider.

The application does not collect bank login passwords or one-time login codes and implements no payments or transfers. Enable Banking and the bank handle their own services under their respective terms and privacy notices. See Enable Banking's privacy notice and service terms.

Hosted authorization callback

For a live bank connection, the bank authorization flow returns through https://pages.godev.space/finance-callback.html, hosted on Vercel. The request URL contains a short-lived authorization code and a state value, or an error response. Vercel receives this URL and hosting logs may retain request information. Removing the query from the browser address bar does not remove information already received by the host.

The callback page uses a small local script to remove the query from the address bar and hold the response in page memory. It copies the response to the clipboard only when the owner clicks, for pasting into the local application's hidden prompt. The page uses no analytics, cookies or browser storage and makes no further network requests. Close the page and replace clipboard contents after completion. Signing keys, bank sessions and downloaded balances or transactions are not sent to this website by the application; code exchange happens locally using macOS Keychain.

Local storage and sharing

Downloaded records, planning inputs, reports and backups are stored locally on the owner's Mac with owner-only file permissions. These files are not encrypted by the application. Signing keys and session credentials are stored separately in macOS Keychain and are excluded from application database backups.

The synchronization application has no financial telemetry, advertising or AI-service integration. It does not automatically publish reports. Any export, publication, or sharing through other software is a separate action under the owner's control.

Retention and control

The owner can stop fetching and request session revocation using the application's disconnect command, and can manage consent through the provider or bank. Expiry or disconnection does not erase previously downloaded records. Local records, reports and their backups remain until the owner deliberately removes them; there is no automatic retention deadline or one-click erasure feature.
